We are all on a journey. God knows the way and things go better when we follow the route God wants us to choose.
James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Our journey with Feed My Starving Children began with God, our Creator. God created everything and He is still creating, sometimes it is desires in your heart.
A few years ago God told me something. I talk to God a lot and I also work on listening to God. He wanted me to feed starving children. I was willing but I did not know any starving children or where He wanted me to be involved. I know of hungry children and different programs they have to feed them, but not starving children. God is patient and He will guide us to be patient also when we watch and see how things work, in His timing.
As we were traveling to visit family I finally felt prompted to share what God had told me with Charlie. We talked about it and were willing but we still did not have the direction He wanted us to take. When we arrived to begin our visit with my brother and his wife we began to catch us on our lives. As we continued our conversation they shared their church was doing a Mobile Pack for Feed My Starving Children. They definitely had our attention.
After we went home we visited the website for Feed My Starving Children, fmsc.org. We spent time on their website learning more about them. Shortly after this we began to support Feed My Starving Children financially. They have 7 permanent packing sites and they are building a new one in Texas. Planning a visit to my brother and his wife in Minnesota, we were able to locate a permanent site close to where they live. We went on line and followed the instructions to register.
Part 1 to continue….
